About Us

Located on the site of one of the last complete medieval battlegrounds in Europe, the Rockingham Arms is both the start and end of a complete four-mile trail which takes you through stunning landscapes with views across Towton-le-Dale. As an 18th Century country Inn on the Old London Road the Pub has been a hospitable retreat and village pub since 1722. Our team of talented chefs create sumptuous food from locally sourced ingredients and our bar has a raging fire in winter where you can relax into deep leather chairs and enjoy fine cask ales or rare scotch and artisanal gin, rum or vodka. Our lovely light and airy garden room is the perfect place for a traditional Sunday roast with all the trimmings or if you would like a more intimate setting we have private dining in the ‘old brewery,’ room dating from the early 17th century.

As a dog-friendly establishment, you are welcome to walk the trail with your best friend and bring him into the bar and restaurant where we will be happy to make your dog comfortable. Through the year we have an early bird menu from Tuesday to Thursday, and at the weekends our chefs create some wonderfully tasty special dishes for you to enjoy alongside award winning wines which have been carefully curated for your complete enjoyment. We hope to see you soon but as a destination hostelry, we do recommend that you make reservations in advance where possible. We will always try our best to find a place for you but this may not be possible at our peak times.
